Notes on the nearest schools
Edenbridge International School (about 3 km). Edenbridge describes itself as an IB school offering the Primary Years Programme, or PYP. That covers the early and primary years. Ask where your child would go for middle and senior school.
Aurinko Academy (about 3 km). Aurinko Academy says it follows the Cambridge International curriculum. Public listings show it runs from kindergarten to Grade 10. Some listings also mention ICSE, so confirm the exam board for Grade 10.
Smrti Academy (about 3 km). Smrti Academy is a CBSE school in Huskur, off Sarjapur Road. It says it opened in 2018 and runs from Montessori to Grade 12. It also offers NEET and JEE coaching in Grades 11 and 12, per the school.
National Public School (about 4 km). NPS has several branches in Bengaluru. NPS Sarjapur Road is a CBSE school. The brochure does not name the branch, so confirm which campus it means.
Primus Public School (about 4 km). Primus is on Sarjapur Road at Chikkanayakanahalli. Its board is CISCE, which runs the ICSE and ISC exams. Per the school, it also offers Cambridge IGCSE and AS and A Level.
Sri Chaitanya School (about 5 km). Sri Chaitanya runs many branches across Bengaluru. Boards can differ by branch. Ask the branch for its board before you apply.
Harvest International School (about 6 km). Harvest’s Sarjapur campus is at Kodathi, off Sarjapur Road. It offers CBSE and Cambridge IGCSE. The school’s own site also mentions IB, so ask which programme runs at which campus.
International schools on the Dommasandra side
The developer’s map also marks three large international schools. They sit near Dommasandra on the Varthur–Sarjapur Road stretch. The brochure gives no distance for them, so check the drive yourself.
| School | Where | Board or curriculum |
|---|---|---|
| Oakridge International School | Near Dommasandra Circle | IB (PYP, MYP and Diploma), per the school |
| The International School Bangalore (TISB) | NAFL Valley, near Dommasandra | IB PYP, Cambridge IGCSE, IB Diploma; boarding from Grade 5 |
| Greenwood High International School | Sarjapur campus, near Gunjur | ICSE, ISC, Cambridge IGCSE, IB Diploma; boarding |
Oakridge International School. The Bengaluru campus runs IB programmes from the primary years to the Diploma. The Oakridge group also offers CBSE and Cambridge at some campuses. Ask which ones run here.
TISB. TISB is a day and boarding school. Per the school, it uses the IB PYP in the early years and Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10. Students then take the IB Diploma in Grades 11 and 12.
Greenwood High. The Sarjapur campus offers ICSE and ISC under CISCE, plus Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma. Greenwood High also takes boarders, per the school.
How to choose a board
Each board suits a different plan for your child. Here is a short, balanced view of the 4 main boards near Sarjapur Road.
- CBSE. The Central Board of Secondary Education is a national board with exams in Grade 10 and Grade 12. Its syllabus follows NCERT books, which also shape the JEE and NEET entrance tests. CBSE suits families who may move cities or aim for Indian engineering or medical colleges.
- ICSE and ISC. CISCE runs the ICSE exam in Grade 10 and the ISC exam in Grade 12. Parents often choose it for its strong focus on English and a broad range of subjects.
- Cambridge. Cambridge International runs IGCSE, usually taken around Grade 10, and AS and A Levels after that. Indian and foreign universities both accept it.
- IB. The International Baccalaureate runs the PYP, MYP and Diploma. It uses projects and inquiry more than rote tests. IB fees in Bengaluru tend to run higher than CBSE or ICSE fees, so compare fee sheets.
There is no single best board. Think about where your family may live in 10 years and which colleges your child may target. Also ask each school how it helps students switch boards, if you ever need to.
Practical checks before you pick a school
A good school on paper can still be a hard daily trip. Here are five checks worth doing:
- Bus route. Ask whether the school bus covers Rayasandra Road or Gattahalli. A missing route can add a long daily drive.
- Pick-up time. Ask for the first pick-up time from your area. For far routes, it can start well before 7 am.
- Seats by grade. Popular schools on Sarjapur Road can fill up early in some grades. Ask for the admission calendar a year ahead.
- Board through Grade 12. Some schools stop at Grade 10 or only offer primary years. Check that your child can finish Grade 12 on the same campus.
- Fees and increases. We do not quote fees for any of these 10 schools. Ask each school for its current fee sheet and its past yearly increase.
These checks matter more than a distance figure. A school 5 km away on an easy road can beat one 3 km away through a busy junction.
Planning admissions around possession
Timing matters when you buy a home still under construction. Adarsh Welkin Park has a reported possession date of December 2028 onwards, per listing portals. Confirm the date for your phase on Karnataka RERA, or see the RERA section of the homepage.
Most Bengaluru schools start their academic year around June. So a family moving in early 2029 would likely target the June 2029 intake. Many schools open admissions several months before that.
Here is a simple plan:
- Count forward. Work out which grade your child will join in mid-2029, not the grade they are in today.
- Shortlist in 2028. Visit 3 or 4 schools about a year before you move.
- Keep a backup. If the move date shifts, ask whether the school will hold a seat or allow a mid-year join.
- Check the bus again. New routes can open once more families move into Gattahalli, so ask the school closer to the date.
If your child is starting Grade 11, the choice of board matters most. Some students switch boards after Grade 10, and each school sets its own rules for it.
How schools fit the wider move
For many families, the school decides the area and the area decides the home. Adarsh Welkin Park is in Gattahalli, off Sarjapur Road, on Rayasandra Road beside Gattahalli Lake. The brochure lists the three nearest schools at about 3 km.
Think about the whole family’s day, not only the school run. Our guide to tech parks near Sarjapur Road maps the job belts. Our guide to Sarjapur Road to Electronic City compares the routes to the south-west.
Future transit may also help older children travel on their own. The planned Phase 3A line would add a Dommasandra stop, though it still awaits approval. See our Sarjapur Road metro guide for the status.
Inside the project, the brochure lists a crèche in the 73,000 sq ft clubhouse and many play areas outdoors. You can see them in the amenities section of the homepage. The location section shows the schools on the developer’s map.
