From Gattahalli, off Sarjapur Road, the developer’s brochure lists 6 places to eat, drink or shop within about 9 km. Five dining spots sit 7 to 8 km away, and Central Mall is 9 km out. Add 2 lakes, a large sports store and a few weekend drives. Here is what each one offers, as we verified in September 2026.

The brochure’s 6 picks at a glance

Adarsh Developers names 6 leisure spots in the Welkin Park brochure. The distances are rough road distances from the site. We checked each venue’s own pages and dining listings. We do not list opening hours, since these change often.

PlaceDistance (brochure)AreaWhat it is
Street 15227 kmSarjapur Road, near ChikkakannalliA cluster of restaurants and a bar under one roof
Byg Brewski7 kmSarjapur RoadLarge brewpub with live music and a garden

Macaw by Stories7 kmSingasandra, Hosur Road service roadRooftop bar with a craft brewery
Roxie8 kmHaralur Main Road, near HSR LayoutCraft brew house with an Italian theme
Central Mall9 kmBellandur junction, ORRShopping centre with a cinema

Five of the 6 sit on the city side of Sarjapur Road or toward Hosur Road. That means a drive, not a walk. On a weekend evening, 7 km can take 20 minutes or much more. Plan for a cab if you plan to drink.

The list also leans toward nightlife. It says little about parks, lakes or sports. So we added those below, with facts we could check in September 2026. Where we could not confirm a detail, such as a menu or an event day, we left it out.

Brewpubs and dining out

Byg Brewski, Sarjapur Road. Byg Brewski started in 2013 and now runs 3 outlets in Bengaluru. The Sarjapur Road outlet is its best-known one. Dining listings say it can seat about 1,200 guests. It has several bars, a brewery garden and live music on many nights. It works well for groups of 10 or more and for birthday dinners.

Street 1522. This venue groups several restaurants and a bar under one name. Its theme is a European street, and it sits about 7 km from Gattahalli. Listings place it near Chikkakannalli on Sarjapur Road. Families like it because each person can pick a different cuisine. It also has valet parking, as per dining apps.

Sarjapur Social. SOCIAL opened this as its fourth Bengaluru outlet, per a launch report. The space covers about 18,800 sq ft in Doddakannelli. It works as a cafe and work space by day and a bar by night. It suits people who want a laptop-friendly spot near the Sarjapur Road tech parks.

Macaw by Stories. This is a rooftop bar on the Hosur Road service road at Singasandra. It has a craft brewery, jungle-style decor and a karaoke room. From Gattahalli, you reach it by the Hosa Road side, not Sarjapur Road.

Roxie. Dining apps list Roxie under Sarjapur Road, but its address is on Haralur Main Road near HSR Layout. It calls itself a craft brew house with an Italian mood. It also offers a low-alcohol cocktail menu for guests who drink less.

Most of these venues suit adults. For kids, Street 1522 and the mall food courts tend to work better than the brewpubs.

Lakes and green walks

Bengaluru’s lakes give the Sarjapur Road belt much of its open space. Two are worth a visit.

Gattahalli Lake. Welkin Park sits right beside it, on Rayasandra Road. The brochure calls the project lake-facing, and most towers look across the water. Read more about the site under location.

Kaikondrahalli Lake. This lake on Sarjapur Road covers about 48 acres. It was once badly polluted by sewage and dumping. Residents, civic bodies and local groups then worked together to restore it. Today it has a paved, flat walking trail of 1.5 to 2 km, a butterfly area and a bird-watching point. Nature groups run bird walks there on some weekends. Entry has been free, as per visitor reports from 2025 and 2026.

Early mornings, before 8 am, are the best time for both lakes. You get cooler air, more birds and fewer people than at noon. Carry water, since kiosks are few.

Shopping and sports

Central Mall, Bellandur. The mall sits at the Bellandur junction of the Outer Ring Road, 9 km from the site. It has a Central store over 4 floors and a PVR cinema on the 4th floor. A food court sits on the 5th floor. The ORR stretch in front can get jammed, so avoid 6 pm to 9 pm on weekdays.

Decathlon, Sarjapur Road. The developer’s map marks a Decathlon store. It sits on Sarjapur Road near Chikkakannalli, beside a football ground. It stocks cycles, camping kit, gym gear and shoes. It also has its own parking.

Total Mall. The developer’s map also marks a Total Mall on the Sarjapur Road side. We could not verify its current stores, so check before you go.

For daily needs, the Welkin Park clubhouse plan lists a supermarket and an ATM. That saves short trips for milk and cash. You can see the full clubhouse list under amenities.

Weekend drives from Gattahalli

Gattahalli sits in Anekal Taluk, on the south-east edge of Bengaluru. That puts a few green escapes within an easy drive.

Muthyala Maduvu (Pearl Valley). This waterfall and picnic spot lies about 5 km from Anekal town, per the Bengaluru Urban district office. Water drops over rock steps into a small valley. Flow is best after the June to September monsoon. The district listing puts it about 40 km from central Bengaluru, so Gattahalli is the closer start. Wear shoes with a good grip on the rocks.

Bannerghatta Biological Park. This park lies south of Bengaluru, off Bannerghatta Road. It has a zoo, a safari and a butterfly park. It is a good half-day plan with children under 12. Check safari timings on the day, since they can change.

A slow drive through the villages. The roads from Gattahalli toward Sarjapur town and Anekal still pass farms and small temples. It makes a calm Sunday drive before 9 am, when the traffic builds.

What you can do without leaving home

At Welkin Park, much of the fun sits inside the gate. The 73,000 sq ft clubhouse lists 8 badminton courts and 2 squash courts. It adds 2 table tennis tables and 2 pool tables. There is an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and a gym. You also get a home theatre, a games room and a restaurant with a bar. For family events, the plan shows 2 banquet halls.

The outdoor plan adds more than 30 features. These include a football field, a tennis court, a skate plaza, a trampoline park and a rock climbing wall. There is also a Miyawaki forest, a maze garden, a pet park and a campfire area. The open space covers 72% of the land, as per the brochure.

This matters for weekday life. A 7 km drive to a brewpub works for a Saturday. For a Tuesday evening, a badminton game 2 floors down is easier. You can see how the lawns and courts fit together on the master plan.

The honest trade-offs

The Sarjapur Road belt has plenty to do, but it is not central Bengaluru. Here is a fair view.

  • Most nightlife is 7 km or more away. Gattahalli is a quieter pocket, and that is part of its appeal.
  • Traffic shapes your plans. Weekend evenings on Sarjapur Road and the ORR can be slow.
  • Public transport is thin. The Sarjapur Road metro is still at the proposal stage as of September 2026.
  • The upside is space. You get 2 lakes, 72% open land and a large clubhouse at home.
